These are a fantastic additional to our range of gardening tools. Sophie Conran has produced for Burgon and Ball a pair of secateurs which are compact, robust, extremely efficient at their job and, as a bonus, lovely to look at. Sophie's aim when she produced her range of tools was to make them slightly smaller than the standard size without compromising performance so they are ideal for women.
The packaging for these secateurs is a work of art in itself making them an ideal gift. The box is duck egg blue with a clear photograph of the product and a full description within the lid The box is held shut with a clever magnetic catch which holds the box firmly closed. Durable and stylish.
These secateurs measure only 20 cm in length with a maximum width of 5cm which means they will fit comfortably into a pocket and are ideal for gardeners with smaller hands. The special stainless steel blades produces a precision cut vital for healthy plants but very importantly, for those who occasionally leave their tools to survive the elements over night, they will not rust even after a period of neglect!
A brass lock keeps the blades safely closed when not in use and doesn't slip off when they are in your pocket. The spring to open and close the blades is powerful enough to do the job without making them difficult to use, a common problem we've found with some secateurs. All in all a great additiion to the tools that you use on a daily basis and couldn't be without.
